OAuth 2.0

OAuth 2.0 โ€” self-onboarding

Point your MCP client at the server URL and approve access in the browser. The server supports OAuth Dynamic Client Registration (RFC 7591), so the client registers itself automatically โ€” no developer-portal app, client_id, or client_secret to create.

Sentry MCP OAuth consent For the hosted Sentry MCP server, the MCP client self-onboards: add https://mcp.sentry.dev/mcp in your MCP client and let it start the OAuth flow automatically. Approve access in the browser when prompted. The docs describe this as triggering an OAuth authentication flow when the MCP server is added.

Sentry auth token (organization, personal, or internal-integration token) Create a token in Sentry's developer settings. The easiest path for CLI users is to run sentry-cli login, which opens the token flow and stores the token in ~/.sentryclirc. For manual setup, create an organization token under Organization Tokens or use Personal Tokens from User settings > Personal Tokens; internal-integration tokens are created by creating an internal integration. Use the resulting token as a Bearer token.
