Create a Google Cloud project, enable the Gmail API, configure the OAuth consent screen, then create an OAuth client in Google Cloud Console. Google Workspace's setup guides link to Enable Google Workspace APIs, Configure OAuth consent, and Create access credentials. Use the resulting client to obtain user OAuth 2.0 access tokens with Gmail scopes such as https://www.googleapis.com/auth/gmail.readonly or https://mail.google.com/.
