OAuth 2.0 — self-onboarding
Point your MCP client at the server URL and approve access in the browser. The server supports OAuth Dynamic Client Registration (RFC 7591), so the client registers itself automatically — no developer-portal app, client_id, or client_secret to create.
ClickUp MCP OAuth authorization
Connect your MCP client to https://mcp.clickup.com/mcp and start the sign-in flow from the client. ClickUp's MCP docs say authentication is OAuth only, and supported clients use dynamic discovery / DCR where the MCP client initiates the browser authorization flow and you approve access to your ClickUp workspace. You do not use a personal API token for the MCP server.

Sign in to ClickUp, open Apps settings, and under API Token click Generate or Regenerate, then copy the token. The auth guide says personal tokens begin with pk_ and never expire.
